CAUGHT ON CAMERA: LEEK TOWN (A)

Despite falling behind to a 53rd minute Dan Trickett-Smith strike, The Silkmen fought back to secure back-to-back league victories last night.

Josh Ryder inadvertently sliced the ball into his own net just after the hour mark to level the tie, with Nicky Maynard’s close-range strike handing Danny Whitaker’s side the lead nine minutes later.

Victory was sealed four minutes from time when Maynard claimed his third goal in two appearances, as his clinical finish sent the travelling fans wild.

Macc could have gone on to add to their tally in the latter stages – yet a combination of last-gasp defending and phenomenal Sam Booth saves prevented this from happening.
