FIRST TEAM COACH PADDY BYRNE TO EXPLORE FULL TIME COACHING POSITION

Macclesfield FC can confirm that First Team coach Paddy Byrne will reluctantly be leaving the club to explore a full time coaching position. 

An integral part of Mark Duffy’s coaching staff, Paddy has played a major role in leading the club to promotion from the Northern Premier League West Division.

Paddy leaves the club not only as a well-liked figure but also as an adopted fan of the club and everyone associated with Macclesfield Football Club wishes Paddy every success in his new role.

Director of Football Robbie Savage expressed his gratitude to Paddy:

“We would like to thank Paddy for his efforts whilst at Macclesfield Football Club. On one hand, we are disappointed to lose him but on the other hand we appreciate the opportunity for himself and his family to have the chance to work as a full time coach on a permanent basis.

“Once again Macclesfield FC has proven what opportunity it can give young aspiring coaches to go on to full time football. Paddy follows Neil Danns, who started his coaching career at the club before moving to Tranmere Rovers, into full time coaching.

A few words from Paddy before his departure:

“I have loved every minute during my time at the football club. I would like to thank Rob and Robbie for providing me the opportunity to work for a club with such a large fanbase.

“It was a difficult decision to make and one that was not taken lightly, but I am grateful for the chance to work with such a talented bunch of players and a group that has helped take me to the next stage of my coaching career.

“I’ll be sure to be back as a fan one day in the future!”

The football club has now started the recruitment process of a new first team coach.
