Dawson a done deal

The Silkmen are delighted to have agreed terms with former Bamber Bridge midfielder Paul Dawson.

The 24 year-old, tipped as a talented player with outstanding ability, makes the switch from the Briggers following an impressive season in the Northern Premier League, culminating in a play-off spot for the team in which he shone.

Paul notched 7 goals in 34 appearances for Brig from his central role last season whilst flying high, providing plenty of experience at this level including an earlier stint for his hometown club, Lancaster City.

Starting out at Morecambe, the dynamic Dawson also has previous at football league level, from which head of recruitment Jimmy Holmes is familiar with him.

The signing of Paul proves to be an exciting one and the final of five new faces as the Silkmen conclude their strengthening business ahead of our maiden season in the NPL Premier Division.

Everyone at Macclesfield FC would like to wish Paul every success during his spell at the Club.

Dawson can be seen in action in the now confirmed pre-season schedule, beginning at the leasing.com where the Silkmen host The New Saints on the 8th July, KO 3pm.

Subject to FA and league approval.
