SILKMEN ANNOUNCE INTERIM COACHING TEAM

Macclesfield FC are delighted to confirm that Neil Danns has accepted the role of Interim First Team Head Coach and he will be assisted by Mark Duffy.

Universally respected throughout the Club, fans favorites Neil and Mark were the standout candidates to take immediate charge of our First Team and were approached by the Football Club following the departure of David McNabb and Tim Lees last Saturday.

We were delighted when both Neil and Mark accepted these roles on an initial interim basis – allowing the Club to conduct a meticulous and thorough search for a longer-term solution.

Fully recognising our ethos, model and footballing philosophy, both Neil and Mark unquestionably have the best interests of the Club engrained within them and have been integral members of our successes to date.

In addition to this, we can also confirm that Sammy McIlroy will continue in his role as First Team Mentor.

Sammy has proved to be an infectious and incredibly knowledgeable addition to our Management Team since his arrival at the Club, with Neil and Mark both recognising the positive impact that he continues to have on our First Team.

As such, they were both unwavering in their desire to keep Sammy involved in his role – enabling them to learn from someone who will always be regarded as a Club Legend.

Finally, Peter Band has returned to the Club to help support the Interim Coaching Team.

Peter is a colossal figure at this level of the game and he has already played a remarkable part in shaping our history so far.

Neil and Mark were adament in their bid to bring Peter back to the Club – such is the respect that he enjoys amongst both players and supporters alike.

We would like to wish Neil, Mark, Sammy and Peter every success going forward.
