Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce that Dean Meadows will join Nick Simpson as Joint Manager of our Women’s First Team!

Dean, formerly of Witton Albion, has agreed to join Macclesfield with a wealth of experience as former Manager of the Albion’s Women’s Team, winning the Cheshire League and the Cheshire League Cup, both of which Macc’s Women will compete in this season.

Dean takes the vacant role left by Jenna Lea, who we can now also confirm has departed for pastures new and would like to place on record our thanks for all her efforts and wish her the very best for the future.

The new Management duo will lead the re-vamp of the Women’s First Team, whose season ended disappointingly with relegation from the North West Women’s Regional League in the previous 2025/26 campaign.

Nick has already overseen two successful trial sessions under the lights at the Leasing.com Stadium, which attracted an excellent turnout with passionate players relishing the challenge of promotion at the first time of asking from the Cheshire League.

The excitement will only build following the coup of recruiting Dean, who is excited by the challenge and is expected to provide a new, revitalised energy to the side required to get the team back to where they were, continue to kick on and progress up the leagues.

Dean and Nick will work closely together to build a team capable of success, which they hope to identify in upcoming friendlies soon to be announced.

Each of the Gaffers are dedicated to providing a bright future to the Women’s side of the Football Club and are set on ensuring there is a bright future for those wishing to play to a high, competitive standard and represent the Club in the best possible light both on and off the field.

With the initial two trial sessions now complete, it is expected that further sessions and friendlies will take place closer to the start of the new season, details of which are soon to be announced.

Any players currently signed up with Clubs locally or without a team are encouraged to register their interest in attending the trials days to be in with a chance of becoming one of the players to take Macclesfield FC Women’s First Team to the next level.

Both Managers will undertake an interview shortly to outline their excitement and expectations ahead of undertaking their debut seasons with the Club.
