The Macclesfield FC Elite Academy provides talented young players with a high-performance environment designed to prepare them for the next stage of their football development.

Players train twice per week, represent Macclesfield FC within a competitive games programme, and receive structured coaching focused on individual development, tactical understanding, and preparing players for higher levels of the game.

The Elite Academy forms a key part of our long-term player pathway, strengthening the connection between our Academy age-groups, post-16 football and ultimately the Macclesfield FC First Team.

What’s Included? 

Elite Academy players receive:

A Clear Player Pathway

Our objective is to create a genuine pathway for talented young players at Macclesfield FC.

Players can progress from our Junior Academy into the Elite Academy, before moving towards our older youth, post-16 and senior football environments.

Players who demonstrate exceptional ability, potential and attitude can also be identified for additional opportunities through our Emerging Talent Group.

Our Emerging Talent Group is designed to identify and support players who demonstrate the potential to progress beyond their current age-group environment.

Selected players can receive additional development opportunities, increased contact with senior Academy staff, and exposure to different training and playing environments.

Where appropriate, players may also be challenged by training or playing either out on loans or on dual registrations.

The aim is simple: when a player demonstrates the potential to progress more quickly, our structure should allow us to challenge and support them accordingly.

Category Four Ambition

The Elite Academy is an important part of the Club’s wider long-term strategy.

Macclesfield FC has ambitions to establish a Category Four Academy, creating an enhanced pathway for talented young players to continue their development with the Club as they move towards post-16 and senior football.

Our Academy structure is being developed with those future standards in mind, with the aim of creating an increasingly professional environment and ultimately producing players capable of progressing towards the Macclesfield FC First Team and professional football.

Being selected for the Elite Academy comes with increased expectations.

Players are expected to demonstrate:

• A strong attitude towards training and development
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• A willingness to learn and be challenged
• High standards on and off the pitch
• Commitment to their individual development
• Pride when representing Macclesfield FC

Our objective is not simply to develop successful Academy teams; it is to develop individual players capable of progressing to the highest level possible.

Fees

Registration Fee: £250

(Includes Macclesfield FC Home and Away playing kits, player registration and insurance, plus a junior season ticket.

Monthly Subscription: £99.99

(Covers the player’s Elite Academy training, games programme and associated programme provision.)

Elite Academy Registration

Develop, Enjoy, Progress

The Macclesfield FC Junior Academy provides players from U6 to U16 with additional high-quality coaching within the Macclesfield FC Academy environment.

Based at the Leasing.com Stadium, the programme is designed to complement a player’s existing football. Players can and do continue to train and play for their grassroots clubs while attending the Junior Academy.

For those with the ability and ambition to progress further, the programme also provides a clear pathway towards the Macclesfield FC Elite Academy.

What’s Included? 

Junior Academy players receive:

• A regular games programme against suitable opposition
• An official Macclesfield FC Home playing kit
• Ongoing player development and monitoring

More Than Just Training

Our Junior Academy is focused on developing confident, technically capable players who are comfortable making decisions and expressing themselves on the pitch.

The programme can be used as additional weekly development alongside grassroots football, giving players more quality coaching and contact time without having to leave their existing team.

Junior Academy players are continually monitored by our coaching and recruitment staff. Players demonstrating the required ability, attitude and development may be invited to train with or be assessed for our Elite Academy.
