The Silkmen have been drawn to face Stalybridge Celtic away from home in the First Round of the Cheshire Senior Cup.
A date and time is still to be confirmed, though the game must be played by Tuesday 20th October.
Ticket information will be issued in due course once the tie’s scheduling details have been formalised.
Macc re-enter the local Cup competition after bowing out at the Quarter Final stage against Crewe Alexandra last season. The Cheshire Senior Cup is a tournament the Silkmen have a rich history in, as twenty one times winners in our previous alias, Macclesfield Town.
Having not progressed further than the Quarter Final stage since reforming as Macclesfield FC, John Rooney’s men will be keen to make a dent in the recent disappointments in the regional knock-out based contest.
With Macc once again entering four different competitions in the 2026/27 campaign and silverware up for grabs in each and every one, there will be notable fixture congestion to manage with the existing league schedule already posing to be hectic, the Silkmen side fielded will inevitably have a youthful look to it in the early stages.
Though should we progress towards the business end of the competition, Rooney will no doubt want to lead his side to success.
