The Programme

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 in Sport Coaching and Development is part of a suite of sports qualifications, in a range of sizes, which share the common purpose of helping people to become occupationally ready to take up employment in the sport sector at the appropriate level. By studying a BTEC National, learners develop knowledge, understanding and skills required by the sector, including essential employability skills, and apply them in real work contexts.

It covers many aspects of the sport sector including:

  • Careers in the Sport and Active Leisure Industry;
  • Health, Wellbeing and Sport
  • Developing Coaching Skills

There will be daily football training by our full-time Macclesfield FC coaches and competitive matches will typically take place in the EFL – CEFA League, FA Youth Cup, North West Under-21 Development League, British Universities and Colleges League and Cheshire Senior Cup.

It’s the goal of the Football Academy staff to provide opportunities for elite players to participate in training with the Macclesfield FC senior squad on a regular basis.
