A month-by-month review of the 2025/26 Enterprise National League North campaign, concluding with May!

The Silkmen entered the additional month of the season in high spirits having progressed to the semi finals of the Enterprise National League North play-off semi finals!

Kidderminster Harriers were the opponents, who would host Macc at Aggborough Park having finished in 3rd position, and not played since the previous Saturday against South Shields, dismantling their hopes of a league title and promotion to the National League, and therefore equally as buoyant.

Macc’s squad travelled to the West Midlands the night before ahead of the lunchtime kick-off in Kidderminster, having prepared as normal for the fixture, plus an additional session prior to departing via coach.

Unfortunately, the Silkmen came unstuck with their campaign coming to an abrupt end having conceded two goals before the break before a third not long after. Luke Matheson provided a consolation response just before the final whistle, though would make little difference to the eventual outcome of an additional season in the Enterprise National League North.

Shortly after the conclusion of the campaign, Management duo John Rooney and Francis Jeffers renewed their stays at the Leasing.com Stadium, before Captain Paul Dawson and Vice Captain Lewis Fensome swiftly followed suit, renewing their contracts for the foreseeable future.

It was then announced that one half of existing Women’s First Team’s Management duo would remain in post in the form of Jenna Lea, with Dane Jones departing for pastures new, with existing Academy Coach Nick Simpson taking his place in the joint hot seat.

Macclesfield FC’s annual Player of the Year awards would follow, which saw Paul Dawson take the lions share of the awards home including Player of the Year, with additional silverware for Luke Duffy, James Edmondson, Danny Elliott and Lewis Fensome.

IFG graduate Carlos Dos Santos would also renew terms with the Silkmen prior to the release of the retained list which would see nine first team players depart the Leasing.com Stadium with the Club’s best wishes.

George Wilson then became Macc’s first summer signing, having departed league champions AFC Fylde, featuring prominently in the Coaster’s success and opted to join the Silkmen in hope of achieving the same feat.

Season ticket renewals were made available to the Silkmen faithful with general sale to follow at the beginning of May with over 300 tickets renewed within the first 24 hours.

Lincoln McFayden would follow in George Wilson’s footsteps, signing from AFC Fylde, another excellent addition with knowledge of how to be successful in the division the Silkmen are set to spend a second season in before Sam Heathcote renewed his loyalty to Macclesfield for another season.

Pre-season plans were put in place ahead of the 2026/27 campaign as Hyde, Leek, Wolves, Altrincham and FC United were all lined up as preparatory opponents for the Silkmen whilst a Macclesfield XI would also face North West Counties sides Colne and Barnoldswick Town ahead of the first team’s initial outing against Hyde at the Leasing.com Stadium.

A quartet of deals were done before the end of the month with two renewals and new signings a piece. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Luis Lacey both agreed to remain with the Club whilst goalkeeper Christian Dibble and midfielder Fin Shrimpton jumped ship from last season’s opponents Kidderminster Harriers and Chester respectively, inevitably boosting the general sale of season tickets from the following morning.

Results in May:

Kidderminster Harriers 3-1 Macclesfield FC
