Macclesfield FC have now finalised our 2026/27 pre-season schedule, below is a guide of where and when each of the games will take place!

The Silkmen’s first team pre-season begins at the Leasing.com Stadium on Saturday 4th July against Hyde United. Former Macclesfield Manager Michael Clegg’s side will provide a thorough initial test for the boys in blue at the beginning of next month, providing John Rooney with his first impressions of his new signings alongside a number of trialists and a handful of retained first team players.

Macclesfield make the short journey to Leek Town ten days later to be put through their paces once more on the Tuesday evening at the F.Ball Community Stadium, expected to be fulfilled by a similar squad to those featuring in the first game against Hyde.

The following Saturday will then see a Wolverhampton Wanderers XI travel to the Leasing.com Stadium in what will be an emotional day for all in attendance as both Club’s remember their former player Ethan McLeod. Ethan’s family will play a prominent part in the day with his brother Connor expected to feature for Wolves. We are eternally grateful to Ethan’s family and to Wolves for their support in arranging this fixture to celebrate the life of Ethan and ensure his legacy will live on here at the Leasing.com Stadium.

Seven days later, two old rivals are reunited as Altrincham will play host to the Silkmen on Saturday 25th July in what we expect to be a competitive test for both sides, likely to feature more first team players in the latter stages of pre-season with bragging rights on the line for both sides as preparations ramp up ahead of the new campaign.

Our pre-season will conclude where it starts, at the Leasing.com Stadium, against FC United of Manchester, who will also provide a tough test for the Silkmen in their final outing ahead of the big kick off, expected to be a week later, pending confirmation from the league. John Rooney is likely to name a strong side for this final fixture with his first league starting XI in mind.

Supporters are welcome to attend all of the above fixtures for a small entry fee, still to be confirmed, though we hope as many Silkmen fans will be there to back the lads as they get back up to full fitness ahead of what is set to be another incredibly exciting season in the Enterprise National League North.

A Macclesfield FC XI will still travel to Colne on Saturday 27th June and host Barnoldswick Town on Tuesday 30th June at the Leasing.com Stadium, the squads for which will be made up largely of academy players and trialists. A further earlier game on the 20th June is still TBC.

The Club will also take part in a small number of behind closed doors games, the details of which will remain confidential.
