The Silkmen battled it out with Enterprise National League side Tamworth for a deserved draw in our penultimate pre-season fixture on Tuesday evening.
The evening provided some real end-to-end action with chances for both sides to make the difference. Dan Creaney’s header gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half, whilst Adan George produced a more than adequate response for the Silkmen just over ten minutes from time.
The fixture posed as another opportunity for John Rooney to take another extensive look at his well-equipped side ahead of the 2026/27 Enterprise National League North season, with real strength in depth.
Having come up against two sides from the division above back-to-back, beating one and drawing against one certainly provided encouraging signs with promotion firmly at the forefront of Macc minds heading in to the new campaign.
Here are just a few shots of the lads in action away from home in pre-season for the final time ahead of our final test against FC United of Manchester and the opening day away at Marine the following Saturday.
