Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Danny Whitehead following his departure from AFC Fylde.

The midfielder becomes the third addition to the squad ahead of the 2024/25 season.

A name that will forever be etched in the memories of many Silkmen fans following promotion from the National League in 2017/18.

Whitehead was also a part of the squad that made it to the FA Trophy Final in 2017 and secured League Two survival in 2019/20.

The 30 year old has made a significant number of appearances in the Football League and National League and provides great experience to Michael Clegg’s squad.

Whitehead is a versatile, hard-working midfielder with a creative eye with seven goal involvements last season with AFC Fylde in the National League making over 40 appearances last season.

With over 300 career appearances, Danny adds great knowledge and experience to the The Silkmen’s midfield options.

We are delighted to welcome Danny to the Football Club and is a clear sign of our intent this season.

Everyone at Macclesfield FC would like to wish Danny every success at the Leasing.com Stadium.
