Assistant Manager Francis Jeffers provides an update following the Silkmen’s return to pre-season training
Macclesfield FC’s First Team returned to pre-season training this morning in Macclesfield, where they re-grouped at the Leasing.com Stadium and were greeted by Management team John Rooney, Francis Jeffers and Anthony Curran.
The lads then headed to Macclesfield Rugby Club, who very kindly offered the use of their excellent facilities to support with the requirements of the session planned by Rooney & co.
The morning began with an extensive running session, before a small amount of ball work was introduced as the squad transition back in to regular training, with an additional day’s contact time introduced for the 2026/27 season.
Following the conclusion of the first session, Jeffers assessed the first day back, paying tribute to the standards set by the players, before reflecting on almost a year in his role as John Rooney celebrates his one year anniversary tomorrow, touching on how much he has enjoyed and learnt from the role before looking ahead to the 2026/27 Enterprise National League North season.
