As we reflect on Luis Lacey’s first twelve months with the Silkmen, we browsed through the archives to pick out his best pictures in blue!
Luis featured prominently for the Silkmen last season, making over 50 appearances in all competitions, experiencing both the highs and lows of a topsy turvy season which although didn’t conclude with promotion, was still a league finish to be proud of, alongside incredible progress in cup competitions, providing enormous encouragement for the 2026/27 season ahead.
Some of Lacey’s most memorable moments in a Macc shirt include scoring the winner at Southport within a week of joining the Club, helping the Silkmen to secure a spot in the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup with victory against competition holders Crystal Palace, before featuring in the following tie against Brentford.
Luis also helped us in to the Enterprise National League North play-offs, in which we defeated Chester in the initial eliminator fixture before falling at the penultimate semi-final hurdle against Kidderminster Harriers.
Lacey was introduced to the opening day of the 2026/27 season in the latter stages of our first fixture away at Marine, playing further forward than his original left-back, providing great versatility for Manager John Rooney to consider and utilise over the course of the upcoming campaign.
