Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce the signing of defender Josef Yarney following his summer departure from Boreham Wood.

The 27-year-old becomes our second addition of the summer following the arrival of Isaac Buckley-Ricketts.

Having started his Youth career at Everton and Newcastle United, Yarney went on to enjoy successful spells at Chesterfield and Morecambe, making 60 appearances for the Spireites in the National League.

The centre-half also has Football League experience, signing for Tranmere Rovers in Sky Bet League Two following his departure from the Latics.

In addition to boasting extensive knowledge of the National League system, Yarney has also played for Clubs overseas, with spells in India and Israel on his footballing CV.

Join us in wishing Josef a warm welcome to the Leasing.com Stadium.
