Our next Junior Academy focus comes from our Under 13 Elite side who were victorious in their game at the weekend.

The main objective of the game was to make it difficult for the opposition to play by being compact in defensive areas.

Particularly in the first half, it was important to lock on in midfield areas and steal the ball in high areas.

Despite falling behind, the reaction was a good one winning a penalty following strong, creative build-up play.

The approach in defensive areas was strong with the opponents being pushed wider towards the touchline.

The Young Silkmen took the lead following combination play in the middle leading to a great finish.

With the main objective being to make it difficult to play, this was executed well with some strong combination play once again.

The game was managed in the second half, limiting the opposition to chances few and far between.
