Macclesfield FC and Elms are proud to announce the launch of Tap In, a groundbreaking new fan engagement initiative that will bring supporters closer to the Club than ever before.

Throughout the 2025/2026 season, every official home and away shirt will feature a Connected Tap In Badge, an NFC-enabled patch that unlocks exclusive digital experiences with a simple smartphone tap.

Tap In enhances the matchday experience and deepens the connection between fans and the Club. By tapping the badge with their phone, supporters can access a secure mobile webpage built on blockchain technology. No app downloads are required.

Fans can enjoy real-time team sheets, messages from the manager, prize draws, interactive games, and much more yet to be revealed. Each match unlocks new content, with unique experiences tailored to both home and away fixtures.

To celebrate the launch, Elms will operate a Personalisation Station at all our home league games in August, where fans will be able to upgrade any official Macclesfield FC shirt to include the Tap In badge.

Supporters who have already secured their 2025/2026 shirts can have the Connected Tap In Badge applied free of charge at the Personalisation Stations, and all new home, away and third shirts will include the badge at the point of purchase.

Bob Trafford, Head of Commercial and Sponsorships stated –

“We’re always looking for new, innovative ways to bring our fans closer to the Club.

“Tap In is more than just a badge. It’s a gateway to exclusive content and a new way to revolutionise the matchday experience.

“Not only that, but Tap In will present fans with a fantastic way to document their own unique stories, and these are so important because they help make us who we are.”

Declan Gleeson, UK General Manager at Elms, added –

“We’re thrilled to partner with Macclesfield FC on this project. The Connected Tap In Badge is a simple, powerful way to connect physical merchandise with digital experiences.

“It’s the first step towards a revolution in sporting apparel.”

The Tap In experience is completely free for fans and compatible with all smartphones that support NFC. The initiative will be promoted across stadium signage, social media, and email campaigns to ensure all fans know how to get involved.

Keep checking back over the next few weeks for more details on how Tap In will revolutionise your matchday experience!
