MATCH PREVIEW: ATHERTON LR (H) – EMIRATES FA CUP

12 Sep 2025

Share:

John Rooney’s Silkmen face Atherton Laburnum Rovers on Saturday afternoon at the Leasing.com in the Emirates FA Cup Second Round Qualifying.

Macc head in to this one as the favourites with Atherton LR currently situated in 11th place in the North West Counties Premier Division, though will be wary of the potential banana skin that the tie with LR poses having beaten local rivals Atherton Colls in the previous round.

Silkmen fans are encouraged to get behind the lads once more in a bid to progress to the Third Round Qualifying of the oldest competition in English football.
