Macclesfield FC Women’s First Team are back in North West Women’s Regional League on Sunday, as they face Chester FC Women’s First Team in a re-arranged fixture at the Armitage Centre

This will be the first time that the women return to action since the devastating passing of Winnie Mayele. The team will remember and celebrate the life of Winnie, holding a minute’s silence before kick off and wearing black armbands during the game.

The ladies were previously set to take on Chester last Sunday at the Leasing.con Stadium, but was called off to do the adverse weather conditions. They will now be looking to return to winning ways in their first outing in 2026 and in honour of Winnie after a suffering a 2-0 defeat to Nantwich Town at home last time out before the festive period.

We encourage as many supporters as possible to come and support our Women, pay their respects to Winnie and help them to secure a vital three points.

Kick-off is 14:00 with free entry for all willing to attend.

We wish the ladies all the very best of luck for the game and hope that they can pick up the result they will very much want against Chester.

The line-up and full time score will be published at the relevant times on the Women’s Instagram page.
