MATCH PREVIEW: REDCAR ATHLETIC (A)

The Silkmen’s Emirates FA Cup campaign begins on Saturday afternoon away at Redcar Athletic in the Second Qualifying Round, kick-off 3pm.

John Rooney’s men, who achieved the greatest upset in the competition’s history last season when they defeated reigning holders Crystal Palace 2-1 in front of a sold-out Leasing.com Stadium on that unforgettable January afternoon in East Cheshire, will aim to start another cup journey this weekend.

Macc are on their travels for the second consecutive week following a 1-1 draw away at Spennymoor Town in the Enterprise National League North last Saturday.

Awaiting the Silkmen on Teesside are Redcar Athletic, who are competing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division for the first-time in their history this term, having been crowned champions of Division One East in 2025/26.

Carl Jarrett’s Steelmen reached the Second-Qualifying stage after overcoming Stocksbridge Park Steels 1-0 earlier this month.
