Oumar Niasse scored a hattrick on his debut to secure victory in a thrilling end to the game.

In the 22nd minute, Luke Mariette sent the ball into the box which Niasse managed to control and back heel into the goal.

The former Everton forward scored his second inside the box when the ball was passed across goal to Niasse in the 87th minute.

Neil Kengni made a brilliant run forward after he picked up the ball on the counter-attack and was brought down in the box.

Niasse struck the ball from the penalty spot beyond the keepers reach to put the Silkmen two goals ahead in the final minutes of the game.

Conor Robson was caught off guard in the 56th minute when he ran off his line to clear the ball but it ended up falling to Mariette who lifted the ball over the keeper and into the goal from distance.

Harvey Saunders scored Tranmere’s first goal despite Conor O’Keefe’s best attempts to keep the ball from going in.

Chris Merrie scored in the 71st minute when he shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner which the keeper got a hand to but was unable to keep out of the goal.

Early in the first half, a misplaced pass from the Silkmen allowed Tranmere to push forward on the counter-attack and Charlie Jolley skimmed the bar from close range.

Tranmere came close to scoring after their second goal but a heroic save from O’Keefe inside the box kept the game level.

Some Macclesfield youngsters were given an opportunity to display their talent with solid performances all round.

Harry Lutakome made multiple crucial tackles in defence and held off Jolley in the first half to deny a goal scoring opportunity.

This result sends Macclesfield through to the third round of the Cheshire Senior Cup.
