Macclesfield FC can confirm that goalkeeper Brayden Gibbons has joined Foley Meir on dual registration terms for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
The young shot-stopper has been added to the ranks at the North West Counties Division One South side for the remaining six weeks of the current campaign to undertake his first stint of valuable game time in men’s football.
Brayden joins fellow Silkmen academy team mates Ethan Anderton, Nathan Brown, Harry Motley and Fin Foote at the Meir, who are all enjoying spells with the Stoke-On-Trent based side, gaining equally priceless minutes on a regular basis under Manager Mark Lawton.
The 17 year-old has had a unique taste of men’s football when training and travelling with the First Team in preparation for various Enterprise National League North fixtures. Although not registered to be formally included in match day squads, Gibbons has again had an early head start to life in men’s football and will no doubt bed in seamlessly around familiar faces at Foley Meir.
Gibbons is the twelfth player in our Youth Academy to provided with these exclusive opportunities to play week in, week out with our local teams alongside training at the Leasing.com Stadium as a Macclesfield FC player, which he will continue to do during this period as his progress will be monitored closely by Academy Manager Lewis Craig and his coaches Ross Speight and Rhys Evans.
For those who are interested by the possibility of such an attractive proposition, Macclesfield FC will be hosting exit trials for players who have recently departed EFL and National League academies, and are ready to get back in to the game with the Silkmen on Monday 30th March at 12:30pm. Register your interest by emailing recruitment@macclesfieldfc.com
Everyone at Macclesfield FC would like to wish Brayden all the very best of luck during his time with Foley Meir and look forward to welcoming him back to the Leasing.com Stadium in the summer having enjoyed an excellent experience.
