We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Nigel Keogh to Robbie Savage’s backroom staff.

Keogh has a fine coaching CV across the Non-League scene and will add great knowledge to our coaching staff.  Keogh’s past clubs include Warrington Town, Ashton United, Newcastle Town, and Buxton FC.

His time at The Bucks was most notable, as he worked alongside Steve Cunningham and oversaw a Northern Premier League title-winning campaign back in 2021/22.

With experience in the Northern Premier League, Nigel’s knowledge will be vital across the final 14 games of the season.

Speaking on the appointment, First Team Coach, Nigel Keogh, said the following:

“It’s an exciting opportunity that has come around very quickly.

“It was a no brainer to come and be a part of something special that is happening at Macclesfield FC.

“I’d like to thank Robbie and the staff for this fantastic opportunity.

Head Coach Robbie Savage stated the following on Nigel’s appointment:

“I am delighted to welcome Nigel to our backroom staff which will compliment the strengths of John McMahon and Peter Band.

“As a tutor on our Youth Academy programme, we now have a clear alignment between our First Team and Youth Academy programme.

“Nigel has a fantastic work ethic and a real passion for football and will add significant value to our already strong backroom team.

“He has been involved with many successful teams in the Non-League pyramid and I am pleased to be able to offer Nigel the opportunity to work for a huge club in Non League”

Join us in welcoming Nigel to the Leasing.com Stadium and we wish him well in his role.
