On this day in 1994, a number of the Silkmen greats came together to celebrate John Askey’s admirable ten year service for Macclesfield Town in the form of a testimonial, featuring the likes of favourites Neil Sorvel, Steve Burr, Elfyn Edwards and John Askey himself.
David Beckham and Gary Neville each also made appearances for the Red Devils on that memorable Thursday evening under the lights!
