Macclesfield FC and The International Football Group are excited to welcome Paul Prescott into the role of Managing Director.

Paul arrives at the Leasing.com Stadium boasting a wealth of experience that will prove to be invaluable within the next stage of our evolution.

We have made no secret of our ambition to attain EFL status and as such, Paul’s eclectic knowledge base, drive and innovation is perfectly aligned to our ultimate quest.

A highly-respected figure within the game, Paul has enjoyed a successful career that has seen him thrive in numerous leadership positions – most notably, spending over a decade working for the Premier League.

Ascending to the role of Head of Operations – Football Development, Paul not only proved to be a leader within organisational and logistical matters, but also championed youth development within the Premier League.

Formerly a professional Rugby League player with Wigan Warriors, Paul’s commercial acumen will also prove highly advantageous as we look to catalyse our future development.

Speaking following his appointment, Paul stated –

“First and foremost, I feel incredibly humbled to have been offered this unique and very exciting role.

“Macclesfield FC is a Club that possesses an incredible amount of potential and I genuinely feel that I can help take it to the next level.

“Working closely with all of the Club’s shareholders, I look forward to the challenges ahead and playing my part in what already represents an inspiring story.

Director Rob Smethurst added to this with the following –

“I have made no secret of the fact that I have looked to acquire the right individual for the Managing Director role for quite some time.

“I am so pleased that we have now found someone who I believe is perfect to work alongside me in order to take our Club forward.

“Paul possesses all the attributes I was looking for and we are fortunate to have him join us here at the Leasing.com Stadium.

“The appointment clearly furthers our unwavering ambition to take our Club into the EFL and Paul’s guidance will be absolutely pivotal in us achieving this.

Further to this, Head Coach Robbie Savage commented –

“I would like to warmly welcome Paul to the Football Club and there can be no doubt that he represents a great asset to the business going forward.

“With Paul’s extensive knowledge gained from working at the Premier League, his counsel will be crucial going forward and I look forward to working closely with him on a whole range of different levels.”
