The Silkmen continue their pre-season campaign at Leek Town’s F Ball Community Stadium on Tuesday 14th July at 7:45pm
The local away fixture quickly follows the announcement of the opening and final games of our 2026/27 pre-season campaign against Hyde United on Saturday 4th July and FC United of Manchester at the Leasing.com Stadium, in what will be the Silkmen’s first journey elsewhere, albeit a short one.
Leek enjoyed a strong season in the Northern Premier League, making a late push for the play-offs, though an 8th placed finish saw them narrowly miss out on play-off football, just five points behind Stockton Town who claimed the last spot in the top five.
The fixture allows John Rooney and his management team the chance to review their options ahead of the 2026/27 season in the Enterprise National League North, with both existing first team players and trialists expected to feature.
Leek will be the Silkmen’s second pre-season opponents and the third from the Northern Premier League, allowing us to test ourselves against teams in the division below in the first instance, with fixtures against sides higher up the pyramid to follow.
The two sides have previously been embroiled in closely fought league battles during the Silkmen’s rise to the sixth tier of English football, and will face off once more in a non-competitive sense, though naturally both sides will be looking to secure a positive result from the outing.
Ticket details are still to be confirmed and will be published at a later date. Supporters are welcome to attend the game and will be provided with further information at the earliest opportunity.
