Macclesfield FC are now unbeaten in six after securing a 3-1 win against Warrington Rylands.
The game started off with the Blues almost taking the lead as Alex Kiwomya was through on goal but denied by Max Dearnley, before Jake Burton’s rebound skied over the bar.
In the 11th minute, the home side broke the deadlock as Ben Hardcastle’s cross found Georg Waring at the back post, scoring with a header.
Just a few minutes later, the Silkmen were awarded a penalty after Luke Duffy dribbled his way into the box and was fouled by two players at once.
Danny Elliott stepped up from 12 yards to convert his spot kick and equalise for the travelling side.
Warrington came close to restoring their lead as Kiwomya had a free header from a corner which was on target but was blocked off the line by John Rooney.
Rooney came close to scoring in his second consecutive game as his free kick was from shooting range and was saved comfortably by Luke Pilling.
Towards the end of the first half, D’Mani Mellor tried his luck from distance which almost paid off as his attempt forced a stretching save from the Rylands keeper.
Robbie Savage’s men would soon be in front early in the second half as Duffy’s pass went straight across the six-yard box and found Tre Pemberton who netted his first league goal of the season.
Inside 70 minutes played, Macclesfield increased their lead as a wonderful, lofted pass from Rooney saw Mellor run into the box and score to seal the deal.
The league leaders are in their most comfortable position yet in the Northern Premier League as they sit 22 points ahead of second place.
The Silkmen are once again away in their next fixture as they take on Lancaster City at the Giant Axe Stadium on Saturday.
