Macclesfield FC were deeply saddened to learn that former Macclesfield Town midfielder John Imrie sadly passed away earlier this week.
John was a popular and respected member of Peter Wragg’s side between 1988 and 1992, appearing in the 1989 FA Trophy Final against Telford United at Wembley Stadium.
A Cheshire Senior Cup winner in 1991, John made 116 Silkmen appearances in total before joining Mossley, Droylsden and Glossop North End respectively.
Everyone at Macclesfield FC would like to convey our most sincere condolences to John’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
