SILKMEN THANK BOB TRAFFORD AS HE MOVES INTO A CONSULTANCY ROLE

13 Apr 2023 | Latest News

Macclesfield FC can confirm that Bob Trafford will step down from his role as Head of Communications at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Whilst everyone at the Club is saddened by this, we are delighted that Bob will continue to be involved at the Club in a part-time consultancy basis.

Bob was our first employee when Macclesfield FC was launched back in 2020 and since then, he has played a critical role in making the Club what it is today.

Widely known amongst the fanbase, Bob’s profound knowledge of the Club and its supporters has been invaluable to us all.

Not only that, but Bob’s incredible passion and dedication to his work has been something that has inspired each and every one of us.

Director Robert Smethurst stated –

“Whilst I am sorry to lose Bob in a full-time capacity, I am so pleased that he will continue to be an integral member of the Club on a consultancy basis.

“I first met Bob when we staged the press conference that signalled the start of our amazing journey together and I knew straight away that I wanted to bring him into the Club.

“Since then, he has literally worked around the clock to make Macclesfield FC what it is today and for that, I can never thank him enough.

“Bob is someone who everyone has so much respect for and that is more than justified on so many levels.

“More than anything, I am so proud to call Bob a friend and look forward to the next stage of our journey together.”

Director of Football Robbie Savage added to this with the following –

“What can I say about Bobby Trafford that would ever do him justice.

“Well the fact that one of our much-loved French Bulldogs is named Bobby Traff shows just how much he has impacted both myself and my family.

“Bob is the most fantastic, thoughtful guy who loves this Football Club more than anything in the world.

“This was clear from the minute we met him and as such, we didn’t hesitate in bringing him into the Football Club.

“The work ethic that Bob has shown since then has been staggering and this his natural talent with the written word is clear for all to see.

“But much more importantly, Bob has always gone over and above to help anyone and everyone – whether it be colleagues, fans or players.

“All Bob has ever wanted to do is help others and on this basis alone, he will always be an absolute legend.

“Thankfully Bob is not leaving the Club altogether and I am so pleased that he will continue to be a major part of everything we do.

Everybody at the Club would like to wish Bob every success in the future and we will be catching up with him over the course of the next few days to look back at his time with us.
