Macclesfield FC’s fan engagement NFC-led platform, Tap In, will undergo a period of maintenance, beginning today (Monday 13th July) for various upgrades ahead of the 2026/27 Enterprise National League North season.
The Tap In platform was launched exclusively for Silkmen supporters by the Club in collaboration with Elms Marketing, now re-branded as ID Unlimited UK, at the beginning of the 2025/26 season, beginning its maiden voyage of providing supporters with a dedicated digital space to enhance their match day experience.
The chips were embedded in to all three of the Club’s replica kits for the previous campaign, allowing for ease of access to the platform, with a simple contactless connection via fans mobile devices, instantly redirecting to Tap In when presented nearby.
After an initial twelve months of development, within and following which supporter feedback was taken onboard and will be taken in to account when preparing the new and improved platform.
As of today (Monday 13th July) various upgrades will be implemented and quality checked to ensure a seamless process and experience for all accessing the platform.
Upon the re-launch, existing and first time users will be encouraged to try out the revised version, set to feature a feedback forum to allow for the platform to be tailored accordingly to the taste of Macclesfield fans and will continue to be improved throughout the season as per the requirements of our superb fanbase.
Various new interactive features, which will soon be revealed, are set to be trialled in the re-launch, providing an all new experience to those who have used Tap In previously, whilst also maintaining some of the previously most-loved features.
The re-launch is aimed to capture the imagination of our entire fanbase to make it the go-to platform for those wishing to share their perspective of each and every Macclesfield match day, aswell as compete against their fellow fans for various prizes, also soon to be announced.
The much-coveted Tap In Fan of the Season award will also be up for grabs once more, won last season by Peter Neman, and will be based on the most engagement with the platform throughout the new campaign.
We will provide a further update when Tap In is available to use once again, which we aim to provide in the next seven to ten days, and will allow fans to explore the platform in-depth and become familiar with the functions, making it a force of habit come the opening day of the 2026/27 season away at Marine on Saturday 8th August.
We thank you for your patience and feedback during Tap In’s inaugural season and through this period of maintenance. Look out for the return of the platform very soon!
