Macclesfield FC and ID UNLIMITED are delighted to announce the return of Tap In® for the 2026/27 season, bringing an enhanced fan engagement experience directly into the heart of the club’s official merchandise.

Following a successful debut season at Macclesfield FC, Tap In® has evolved into a globally recognised connected merchandise platform and has since been deployed across projects with Arsenal FC, Nottingham Forest and the NFL.

For the new campaign, Tap In® technology is more integrated, interactive, and rewarding for Macclesfield fans than ever.

For 2026/27, Tap In® is built directly into every official home, away, third and goalkeeper retail shirt manufactured by DNA, with the technology discreetly positioned behind the club crest. Tap In will also feature across selected apparel ranges, extending the connected experience beyond matchday kits.

Fans simply tap the club crest with their smartphone to unlock their personal digital hub packed with content, experiences and rewards. No app download is required.

The all-new Tap In® platform has been redesigned and upgraded for the 2026/27 season with a host of new features designed to reward supporter loyalty throughout the season. Fans are encouraged to Tap In® on every matchday to earn points, climb leaderboards and unlock opportunities to win exclusive prizes and experiences.

From matchday content and competitions to surprise rewards, exclusive club updates and money-can’t-buy experiences, every tap helps supporters deepen their connection with the Silkmen while building their points tally across the campaign.

Bob Trafford, Deputy Chief Executive at Macclesfield FC, said:

“Last season, our supporters embraced Tap In, and the response exceeded expectations. Bringing the technology directly into the shirt for 2026/27 is a fantastic next step and creates an even more seamless experience for fans. We’re excited to reward our supporters throughout the season and give them more reasons to engage with the club every matchday.”

Declan Gleeson, UK General Manager at ID UNLIMITED, added:

“Macclesfield FC was the launch partner for Tap In and we’re incredibly proud of how the platform has developed over the last year. What started at the Moss Rose has since expanded to projects with Arsenal FC, Nottingham Forest and the NFL, demonstrating the appetite for connected merchandise and fan-first experiences.

This new generation of Tap In is our biggest leap forward yet, transforming a replica shirt into an always-on fan engagement platform that rewards supporters throughout the season while creating a direct digital connection between club and fan.”

The Tap In® experience remains completely free for supporters and is compatible with NFC-enabled smartphones. Fans tap in once, then return throughout the season to collect points, access exclusive content, and take part in competitions and promotions.

As Macclesfield FC prepares for another exciting campaign, Tap In® ensures that every shirt is more than just a badge of support. It’s a direct connection between the club and its fans, one tap at a time.
