MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD V WIDNES

29 Aug 2022 | Match Preview

The Silkmen return to the Leasing.com Stadium this afternoon, as Danny Whitaker’s side look to make it six wins from six against Widnes.

There can be no doubt that Macc have made a remarkable start to the new campaign, with three Northern Premier League West Division victories already secured.

It will be the first time that the lads have played in front of their own fans since the devastating opening day victory against Clitheroe and there is sure to be a very special atmosphere generated.

Our visitors currently lie in 17th position in the league table – having accumulated two points from their opening three games.

They started the season with a 3 – 1 defeat against Runcorn Linnets and this was followed by consecutive draws against Bootle and Colne respectively.

TEAM NEWS

Mark Duffy and Zeki Fryers look to shake off injuries sustained at City of Liverpool on Saturday, whilst Neil Danns should feature for Danny Whitaker’s side.

New signing Luke Murphy is also eligible to play if selected.
