DAN SWEENEY SIGNS FOR THE SILKMEN

Macclesfield FC are delighted to confirm that after fighting off competition from an array of higher division Clubs, we have agreed the signing of highly-rated striker Dan Sweeney from Bromsgrove Sporting.

The 25-year-old arrives at the Leasing.com Stadium for an undisclosed fee and has scored eighteen goals in twenty-two starts for the Worcestershire side.

Standing at 6ft 2″ tall, Dan’s physicality and controlled aggression are a major part of his game – as well as his rapid pace that allows him to beat his man with ease.

A player who is unquestionably on an upward trajectory in his career, Dan began his footballing journey at Stourport before signing for National League side Solihull Moors in the summer of 2018.

Loan moves to Hednesford, Leamington and Bradford Park Avenue followed, before Dan signed for Redditch ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Dan joined Bromsgrove Sporting last summer and has become one of the most sought-after talents in the non-league game.

As such, we are thrilled that he has chosen to join us here at Macclesfield FC and will be catching up with him shortly to discuss the move.
