Macclesfield FC were delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Harry McHugh following his departure from Wigan Athletic. The now 23-year-old came through the Academy at The Brick Community Stadium before making his senior debut against Chorley in the Emirates FA Cup. His first start for the Latics came in the EFL Trophy against Tranmere Rovers, playing a full 90 minutes, and getting his first senior goal in a defeat on penalties. He went on to make over 20 senior appearances for the League One side. McHugh furthered his senior experience with a short-term loan with Chester in the National League North and Ayr United in the Scottish Championship. The talented midfielder adds great quality to the Silkmen’s midfield ranks and will be a big asset to the squad.
