The Silkmen were delighted to agree terms with combative midfielder Paul Dawson in the summer of 2023, after he arrived at the Club from Bamber Bridge. Paul possesses outstanding natural ability and is a tenacious midfielder who likes to make his mark on every game he plays. A crucial part of the Bamber Bridge side who made the Northern Premier League play-offs, Dawson’s arrival was certainly met with a great deal of positivity from the Silkmen faithful. Paul has also represented his hometown Club of Lancaster City after starting his career at Morecambe. Dawson famously scored the opening goal in the Silkmen’s famous Emirates FA Cup Third Round victory against Crystal Palace, heading home Luke Duffy’s free-kick after 43 minutes. The Silkmen’s skipper agreed a new deal at the Leasing.com Stadium after a standout 2025/26 season, seeing him scoop up the Club’s Player of the Season.
