The Silkmen were delighted to welcome defender Tom Wilson to the Leasing.com Stadium following his summer departure from King’s Lynn Town. A product of Sheffield United’s Academy, Wilson poses a commanding figure at the heart of the defence. After his first senior move to Hallam, Wilson went on to have spells at Stalybridge Celtic before joining Belper Town. His two-year spell with the Nailers saw him put in some standout displays despite having both a promotion and a relegation on his CV. That earned him a move to National League side FC Halifax Town. He struggled for regular game time with the Shaymen, and as a result, joined King’s Lynn Town after his release. Wilson made 82 appearances for the Linnets in all competitions, with the Norfolk-based side having two differing seasons in the National League North over the last two campaigns. Tom adds great experience and versatility to John Rooney’s backline, and we are excited to have him on board.
