David McNabb suffered his first defeat as Silkmen Manager last night, as Runcorn Linnets ran out 2 – 1 winners at the Apec Taxis Stadium.
Lewis Fensome opened the scoring in the 39th minute, with Kane Drummond receiving a red card shortly after.
Ryan Brooke’s free-kick then restored parity shortly after the interval, before Marcelo Pitaluga was forced off through injury and was replaced in goal by Lewis Fensome.
Jamie Rainford’s 70th minute penalty settled the tie – although Macc had a number of chances to claim at least a point in the closing stages.
After the game, we caught up with the Manager for his post-match reflections.
