Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce the signing of Jon Ustabasi following his departure from AFC Fylde!
Ustabasi joins us from winners of the 2025/26 Enterprise National League North, AFC Fylde, playing a pivotal role in the Coasters’ dominance of the division the Silkmen are preparing for a second season in, and with the support of three league winners, a promotion winner via the play-offs and a play-off candidate to boost an already impressive Macc squad, are incredibly excited for the season ahead!
The winger by trade has spent the last three seasons with Fylde, most recently recording 16 goals and 5 assists in 29 league appearances, including a brace against the Silkmen in our last meeting in February and one in the first clash back in November.
Jon brings a wealth of experience to Macclesfield, having played at a similar level for a number of seasons, featuring previously for the likes of Chorley and Stalybridge Celtic after beginning his career out in Turkey with Denizlispor, Fethiyespor, Yesil Bursa and Bursaspor, where Jon originally resided.
An impressive spell with Yesil Bursa, scoring 13 in 36 appearances earned him a move to England with Chorley, where he further excelled, notching 18 goals in 79 turnouts in black and white, after which he was picked up by both then and now National League side Fylde.
The 32 year-old is without doubt still at the peak of his powers and possesses all the qualities sought to achieve promotion, as proven in the previous season and we are therefore delighted to have Jon on board to hopefully repeat the same feat in the 2026/27 season with the Silkmen.
The addition of Jon is certainly a statement of intent from John Rooney and his recruitment team, who have worked tirelessly to get the deal over the line in recent weeks, the fruits of their labour now clear having secured their man.
With Rooney & co. building a side more than capable of competing at the top end of the division, it is without doubt set to be an enthralling season for everyone associated with Macclesfield FC and are looking forward to seeing Jon and all of our new signings in action at the Leasing.com Stadium from next Saturday onwards in our first pre-season fixture against Hyde United.
