FAN ZONE ACCESS TO BECOME FREE OF CHARGE FOR ALL SUPPORTERS

13 Aug 2022 | Fans, Latest News

Following conversations after this afternoon’s inspiring 3 – 0 opening day victory against Clitheroe, Macclesfield FC can confirm that access to our Fan Zone will be free of charge with immediate effect.

Any supporter who has purchased a Fan Zone membership will be refunded in full over the course of the next week.

The move comes after the Fan Zone’s popularity was reaffirmed this afternoon – as a large amount of fans enjoyed the facility both before, during, and after the game.

Club Director Robert Smethurst stated –

“Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who purchased a Fan Zone membership and all those who enjoyed today’s game within what I believe is another fantastic facility at the Leasing.com Stadium.

“Whilst at the game today, I realised that we had made a mistake in charging supporters for the privilege of using the Fan Zone and that this went against the Community Club we have created.

“In addition to this, queues at other ends of the ground were far too long and supporters were spending far too much time waiting to be served rather than cheering the team on.

“I hold my hands up and say that on this occasion, we got it wrong.

“I hope that all fans will now sample the Fan Zone and enjoy everything it has to offer.”

Please note that any supporter who invested in a Fan Zone membership will retain their priority away / cup match ticket access.
