IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SEGREGATION AT THE LEASING.COM STADIUM

11 Aug 2022 | Latest News

After an in-depth and constructive conversation with Cheshire Police, Macclesfield FC would like to advise some important changes to matchdays at the Leasing.com Stadium.

With immediate effect, games will now be categorised as either Category A or Category B fixtures – with the determining factor being the expected crowd and away following.

Different procedures will be in force depending on how the game has been categorised.

This can be summarised as follows –

CATEGORY A GAMES

Full segregation is in force.

Away supporters will be allocated c.100 seats in the north end of the Moss Lane stand (closest to the Silkmen Terrace). A line of stewards will form a barrier separating home and away fans accordingly.

The Silkmen Terrace will be open exclusively for away fans and all travelling fans will enter the Stadium via the turnstiles located in between the Silkmen Terrace and Moss Lane Stand.

Segregation gates will be in operation, with toilets and refreshment facilities (including the temporary Butch’s Bar) located behind the terrace and in between the two stands.

Home supporters can access the Stadium via any of the other turnstiles located around the ground and assume their normal matchday position.

CATEGORY B GAMES.

Full segregation is in force.

Away supporters will be allocated c.100 seats in the north end of the Moss Lane stand (closest to the Silkmen Terrace). A line of stewards will form a barrier separating home and away fans accordingly.

Travelling fans will enter the Stadium via the turnstiles located in between the Silkmen Terrace and Moss Lane Stand.

The Silkmen Terrace will be open exclusively for home fans and access to it will be via any other turnstile – or Club Reception.

The segregation gate separating the Silkmen Terrace and Moss Lane Stand will be in operation, with toilets and refreshment facilities (including the temporary Butch’s Bar) located behind the terrace.

ACCESS IN FRONT OF THE DUGOUT AREA

Finally, we would like to advise when access is permitted in front of the dugouts.

Home supporters will be allowed to pass through the area up until 14:50 – at which point the segregation gates either side of dugout area will be closed until the players have departed for half-time.

The gates will then open for the half-time period, before being closed upon the players return.

They will be reopened at the end of the game.

This remains in place irrespective of the game’s category.

Please note that Saturday’s Pitching In Northern Premier League – West Division game against Clitheroe will be a CATEGORY B fixture.

We realise that the above may inconvenience some supporters, but safety has to remain paramount at all times.
