SILKMEN ADD TO BACKROOM STAFF

08 Jun 2022 | First Team, Latest News

Macclesfield FC can confirm the appointments of Paddy Byrne as First Team Head Coach and Nick Smith as Strength and Conditioning Coach here at the Leasing.com Stadium.

Both Paddy and Nick bring a wealth of experience with them and will be supporting Danny Whitaker, Peter Band and the Management Team throughout the 2022/23 campaign.

Paddy will be combining his role within the International Academy at Everton FC with his new appointment at Macclesfield FC and we caught up with the Irishman earlier today in order to find out more about him.

Nick is another phenomenal addition to our Backroom Staff and speaking after his appointment, stated the following –

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to join the Coaching Staff at such a fantastic Club.

“I have a keen interest in all aspects of sport, but my main passion is the development of individuals in order for them to reach their maximum potential.

“As Strength and Conditioning Coach, I hope to bring an ever-growing wealth of knowledge to the role – having already worked within individual and team sports from grassroots to elite level.

“One of my favourite sayings is one taken from the military and that is “Train Hard, Fight Easy.”

“If you train in harder, faster or more stressful conditions, your performance in competitive battles will be easy.”

We would like to welcome both Paddy and Nick to the Club and wish them every success for the season ahead.
