Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce the signings of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Mikey Stone!

Defender Borthwick-Jackson, 28, returns to English football following a short stint in Poland with Slask Wroclaw via a loan spell with Ross County, whilst attacking midfielder Mikey Stone, 21, joins us after the expiry of a short-term deal with National League side Altrincham.

Both Manchester based lads boast an impressive start to their footballing careers, starting out in Manchester United and Stoke City’s academy’s respectively, and now join the Silkmen in the second half of the Enterprise National League North season as Macc search for a successful end to what has been a stop-start campaign.

Borthwick-Jackson worked his way through the ranks at the Red Devils, eventually making ten senior appearances towards the end of his stay at Old Trafford, having also had loan spells along the way at Wolves, Leeds, Scunthorpe, Tranmere before eventually making a temporary stint permanent at Oldham Athletic.

Having spent a season with the Latics, appearing on 31 occasions, Cameron was snapped up by Burton Albion in 2021 where his time in English football came to a temporary end after two years, signing for Slask Wroclaw, making seven appearances for the Polish outfit before returning to the British Isles to sign for Scottish Championship side Ross County on loan.

Cameron now returns to England with Macclesfield and we are delighted to welcome him to the Leasing.com Stadium for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Mikey started out at Stoke City’s academy at a young age before moving to EFL League One side Huddersfield Town and progressing through their youth set up to the U21 side, with his first stint in men’s football coming at Liversedge in the 2022/23 season. Stone returned to the Terriers following the expiry of his loan at Liversedge before signing for Scottish League One side Hamilton Academical at the beginning of this season.

Stone has most recently played locally for rivals Altrincham for the last month or so before confirming his switch to Macclesfield at the turn of the year.

Each of our new signings agreed terms earlier today (Tuesday 6th January) and are eligible for tonight’s home game against Radcliffe.

We wish Cameron and Mikey the very best of luck for their time with the Silkmen and would like to encourage everyone to give them both a warm welcome at tonight’s game.
