Tap In – Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tap In?

Tap In is a Connected Badge built into Macclesfield FC’s 2025/2026 home, away, and third shirts. It uses NFC technology to unlock exclusive digital content when tapped with a smartphone.

What kind of content will I get when I Tap In?

Each match unlocks new experiences, including:

  • Real-time team sheets
  • Messages from the manager
  • Prize draws and giveaways
  • Interactive games
  • Match-specific content for home and away fixtures
  • Surprises throughout the season
  • … And much more!

Do I need to download an app?

No. Tap In works instantly with your smartphone. Just tap the badge and a secure mobile webpage will open — no downloads required.

Is Tap In free?

Yes. Tap In is completely free for all fans.

How do I get the Tap In badge?

  • Shirts purchased in-store or online already include the badge.
  • 2025/2026 shirts purchased before the start of the season can be upgraded for free at the Personalisation Station or club store.
  • Previous season shirts can also be upgraded for free — just bring your shirt to the Personalisation Station or club store.

Where is the Personalisation Station?

The Personalisation Station will be available in the Fan Zone at the first five home games of the season. You can also visit the club store to have your badge applied.

Does Tap In work on all phones?

Tap In works with most modern smartphones that support NFC, including iOS and Android devices.

My phone doesn’t work with Tap In. Can I still access the content?

Tap In requires the use of an NFC-capable device; as such, non-compatible devices cannot access the content.

When does Tap In go live?

Tap In launches on Saturday, August 9, the first game of the 2025/2026 season.
