THE CHAMPIONS TO ATTEND MACCLESFIELD IN MAY

After playing a sellout show at Cinemac the festival can now reveal local favourites Seafever will be the final act on Saturday 3rd May.  Formed as an indie supergroup in 2020, Sea Fever has gathered the innate, restless artistry, studio craft, and stage experience of New Order members, Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham, together with Iwan Gronow, a former member of cherished 00’s emotive indie band, Haven as well as playing bass with Johnny Marr for over ten years. The band is completed by Section 25’s Beth Cassidy and drummer, Elliot Barlow, formerly of Brix and The Extricated. Kyle Falconer will join Sea Fever on the stage.
Also joining the festival stage on Sunday 4th May will be the victorious Macclesfield FC, meeting fans, and filling in Market Square on the highlights from the last year. Robbie Savage steered Macclesfield to promotion to the National League North with six matches still to play after defeating Bamber Bridge 2–1 on 22 March 2025, becoming 2024–25 Northern Premier League Champions. Hosting duties will be handled by DJ and radio presenter Laura Beth, who is also the first female match day announcer in the English football league!
Due to the event road closures will be place: Saturday 3rd May & Sunday 4th May from 8am – 11pm in the following areas: MARKET PLACE. From the Junction of King Edward Street to the Junction of Mill Street Mall. JORDANGATE. From the Junction of Cumberland Street to the Junction of King Edward Street. CHESTERGATE. From the Junction of Churchill Way to the Junction of Market Place.
Entrance to the festival site will be via Chestergate and due to licensing restrictions alcohol cannot be brought into the space and bag searches will be place. But don’t worry there will be bars ran by RedWillow and Bollington Brewery and plenty of food options.
VIP passes are also available which give access to the Town Hall Loos and a separate cocktail bar ran by Proper Sound plus more live music inside from The Dope and Far North along with more DJs.
Macclesfield in May is free to attend thanks to community funding from Kicker Starter, the many sponsors and Macc Town Council.
