MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD V AFC LIVERPOOL

02 Apr 2022 | Match Preview

The curtain comes down on our epic 2021/22 league campaign this afternoon, as we welcome AFC Liverpool to the Leasing.com Stadium.

Another capacity crowd is expected, as Danny Whitaker’s side lift the NWCFL Premier Division trophy and there can be no doubt that they will be wanting to end the season on a high.

Since clinching the title back on 12th March, Macc have retained their devastatingly high standards and after securing a 2 – 1 victory in the reverse fixture back in November, will be looking to claim a league double against the Merseysiders this afternoon.

The visitors will hope to spoil the party somewhat however and come into the game residing in thirteenth place having amassed forty-nine points from their thirty-nine games played.

TEAM NEWS

Neil Danns is expected to return to the side following his international call-up and Sam Grimshaw is also expected to be back in contention following a minor hamstring strain.

Danny Whitaker is therefore thought to have a full squad at his disposal for what is set to be a momentous occasion.
