JOE O’SHAUGHNESSY SIGNS FOR THE SILKMEN

Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce the signing of 20-year-old goalkeeper Joe O’Shaughnessy, who agreed terms with the Club earlier today.

The 6ft 6″ stopper comes with an incredible pedigree after starting his career at Wrexham and then Burnley.

Coming through the youth ranks at Turf Moor, Joe then signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2019.

Progressing into the Under-21s side at Molineux, Joe has enjoyed loan spells at Hednesford and most recently, Bradford City.

In addition to this, the Irishman has also trained with his national side at Under-21 level.

Goalkeeping Coach Dean Baker stated –

“Joe is an exceptional goalkeeper, who I am looking forward to working with here at Macclesfield FC.

“He will provide further competition for places and that can only be a good thing for us.

“Joe’s signing enhances our squad even further and as we enter the latter stages of the season, this is something that could well prove to be critical in our bid for promotion.”

We would like to welcome Joe to the Club and will be catching up with him shortly to discuss the move.
