MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD V 1874 NORTHWICH

The Silkmen travel to Townfield Stadium this afternoon, as we take on 1874 Northwich in what represents another vitally important clash.

After securing the vital three points last Saturday against Workington, the Silkmen are now nine points clear of 2nd place Leek Town with only nine games remaining.

Northwich come into the game in tenth position in the league, having accumulated thirty-eight points from their opening twenty-nine fixtures.

Last week, Northwich suffered a 1 – 0 away defeat against Runcorn Linnets with a first-half goal from Matthew Birchall.

MATCH ARRANGEMENTS

1874’s capacity is around 1,000 and we would like to think this game would be a sell out.

1874 have asked that fans use nearby car parks and do not park in adjacent streets, as they are mindful of local residents’ access.  Townfield Lane is also an important bus route and they don’t want to obstruct the bus services.

There are a number of car parks available.  There is a car park adjacent to the ground at the Barnton Memorial Hall which charges £2.  Free parking is available at the Library (200 metres from the ground on the opposite side) and there is a larger free car park at the primary school  (400 metres from the ground).  There is also free public parking behind the Co-op store at the opposite end of Townfield Lane.

If everyone could use one of these car park options this would be much appreciated.
