Macclesfield FC were thrilled to welcome Sammy McIlroy to the Club in a mentoring capacity earlier this week and the iconic former Silkmen Manager was eager to express how important the fans were in his decision to accept the job.
The former Manchester United and Northern Ireland midfielder is rightly regarded as a legendary figure throughout the town, after he presided over the most successful period in Macclesfield Town’s history during the late 1990s.
Sammy helped to inspire a generation and will now be passing on some of his vast experience as we look to create more incredible memories.
We caught up with Sammy earlier today in order to welcome him to the Club and discuss his role.
