MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD V NEWCASTLE TOWN

The Silkmen travel to The Red Industries Stadium this afternoon, as we take on Newcastle Town in another away league clash.

After securing an away point last Saturday against 1874 Northwich, the Silkmen are now seven points clear of 2nd place Leek Town with only eight games remaining.

Newcastle come into the game in fifteenth position in the league, having accumulated thirty-six points from their opening thirty fixtures.

Last week, Newcastle beat fifth place Clitheroe 1 – 0 at The Red Industries Stadium with a goal from James Askey nephew of Macclesfield legend Sir John Askey.

Last time the two side met at the Leasing.com Stadium the Silkmen claimed all three points in a 3-0 victory with a brace from James Berry and goal from Alex Curran.

TEAM NEWS

James Berry continues to be ruled out due to injury, Neil Danns will also be out due an injury picked up late on in last weeks Northwich game and Tom Clare is unavailable for today’s game.

DIRECTIONS

Leave the M6 at Junction 15 and at the first roundabout turn left up the bank (A519) towards Newcastle. At the second roundabout turn right into Stafford Avenue and then take the first left into Tittensor Road (signposted Newcastle Town) to the ground.

From the direction of Derby follow the A50 to Stoke and just after Stoke City’s football ground go onto the A500 following the signs M6 South. At the junction with the motorway turn right up the bank (A519) and then follow the directions above to the ground. 

On the A34 from Stafford/Stone :- follow the A34 towards Newcastle and pass Tesco on the left (there is a sign for Newcastle Town FC outside Tesco) and turn left at the lights (signposted Clayton). Follow the road up and take the third turning on the right (TittensorRoad – signposted Newcastle Town) to the ground.
